🇻🇳 Suited ‘n’ Booted

After a disappointing and drunken (see the last blog) end to our short time in Hue, we made it to Hoi An. With hundreds of tailors all across the city, you can find them around every street corner!

After a couple of days chilling around the city we walked to Anava Tailor, somewhere we’d been recommended to all the way back in Chile! The plan was simple, I wanted a red suit, Jamie wanted a pink one (yes, seriously!) 😅

Then disaster struck when we saw…

THE JACKET!!!

We both saw it…

We both wanted it…

We both didn’t want matching jackets!

Jamie then spent the next 20 minutes trying to dissuade me from it (which is difficult to do for a product you’re still intending to buy yourself), at one point even coming out with this chestnut – “how good do you look in suits” 😂

We were at a stand off and eventually realised matching jackets were the only way to go! So here we are people…

Glorious right? 😝

These beauties (not us) are currently being shipped back to the UK. I think it’s safe to say they’ll turn some heads when we break them out at home!

The next few days were pretty eventful! At a neon paint party I heard someone call out my full name – a weird thing to hear thousands of miles from home but not running late at an airport. Turned around and met Anna, who knew me from back home (embarrassingly because they used to work in my local Pizza Hut – clearly I’m making too many trips there)! Small world right?

For legal reasons I have to include the following…

It was the best encounter of my life and Anna is my favourite out of all the people I’ve met so far!

Recognising we hadn’t done anything hugely cultural for a while, we spent our final day at a huge (but empty) waterpark with our new friends from the hostel, Sophie and Tim.

Awesome day! A true cultural awakening!
